Seattle Hits 93, Warmest June Day in 11 Years

Monday morning update:

The high temperature at Sea-Tac Airport shot up to 93 degrees yesterday as hot weather baked the Puget Sound region. While the high fell shy of the record for the date—Seattle hit 96 degrees on June 30, 1995—it marked the city’s warmest June day in 11 years. The last time Seattle recorded a hotter temperature in June was back in 2002, when the mercury spiked to 94 degrees on June 13.

Similar temperatures are in store today, with Seattle almost certain to break the record high for the day of 87 degrees, logged in 1995.
