More Warmth, More Sun

Sounding like a broken record isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Especially when you’re humming along to the tune of 80 degrees and sunshine.

Our recent postcard-perfect weather is expected to continue unabated for the next several days, with high temperatures hovering in the upper 70s to lower 80s amid mostly sunny skies and light breezes. Conditions will vary little day-to-day as high pressure off the coast keeps the rain at bay, indulging Seattle with another stretch of splendid summer weather.

About the only worry through midweek will be the extent of the marine layer each morning. Current weather models predict the clouds will be at their thickest—and furthest inland—during the first part of the day tomorrow, thanks to a decaying front stumbling into B.C.  Plan on increasing clouds late tonight, with a good dose of gray by sunrise tomorrow. Lows will bottom out near 60 degrees.

The sun starts to burn away the morning clouds over Lake Sammamish Sunday morning. More clouds are likely tomorrow morning, yielding to sunny skies by early afternoon.

The clouds thin out around noontime, making for a partly sunny and pleasant Monday afternoon. Highs will level off near the 80-degree mark, with the clearing trend continuing into the evening hours.

On Tuesday, the marine layer stays west of the Sound, giving Seattle a brighter start to the day. In response, the mercury should tick up a few degrees, reaching the lower 80s. Sunny skies will once again dominate the weather scene, with just a few high clouds in the vicinity.

The forecast remains stuck on repeat for Wednesday and Thursday, with plenty of sunshine and highs topping out on the plus side of 80. Wednesday should actually wind up as the warmest of the week, as high pressure bulging up from the south makes its closest approach to the region then.

Things finally begin to shift a bit as the weekend nears, with a trough of low pressure over the eastern Pacific spinning toward us. This should allow slightly cooler temperatures to work their way into the area, with highs dropping into the mid 70s by Friday. Cloudier conditions will also be on the upswing, with showers possible near the coast and foothills.

What, is Mother Nature itching to sing a different tune or something?
