2017 Rainfall

After a cool, dry start to October, the rains returned with a vengeance mid-month, as Seattle recorded back-to-back 1-inch rainfalls on Oct. 18 and 19. The stormy weather bumped the city’s monthly precipitation total over 3 inches, with plenty of additional rainfall yet to come.

The return to soggy conditions comes on the heels of a record-setting dry summer in Seattle: A scant 0.02 inches of rain fell from July 1-Aug. 31, and the city experienced its longest stretch on record without measurable precipitation.
